The servings recommended by Muscletech are to load with two servings per day for 5 days. This means using half the tub in the first week. This could get expensive! Especially when you consider what you get for your money, the main ingredient of the product is basically pure sugar.
If you are in any way slightly overweight (or Diabetic)… it may be best to just stick with pure creatine monohydrate… as that excess sugar isn’t going to help a weightloss program.
The other side of the coin is that Cell-Tech does cause a massive uptake of water into the cells… This may cause some ‘puffiness’ and loss of definition, but the effect is to stretch the cells and it is thought that one of the reasons creatine is effective is because this ‘blown up’ condition triggers anabolic activity.
Just make sure you drink at least the ‘regulation’ litre of water daily to avoid dehydration.
The flavour under review is ‘Delicious Fruit Punch’ [ Cell-Tech comes in four flavours, Fruit Punch, Grape, Orange and Lemon/Lime ].
A white powder with orange specks, smells OK. This all changes though when mixed with water as it turns a bright red color. The packaging mentions “contains natural and artificial colors”.
Its not really a taste you would savour, but it definitely tastes like fruit punch, a little sweet perhaps.
Before we move on… Muscletech have managed to produce a creatine formula that overcomes the bitterness often associated with the ‘old’ creatine monohydrate powders. But when we delve a little deeper it is not difficult to see why.
Dextrose - the product contains 77% sugar, the idea being that including creatine with a simple sugar solution like dextrose will enhance the uptake of creatine into muscle cells.
The sugar will cause raised blood sugar levels which are automatically reduced by the body's release of insulin.
This insulin spike which is produced causes the rapid uptake of creatine into the muscle cells. This is all good, but let’s face it, a lot of ‘empty’ sugar calories are consumed just to achieve this goal. There are other ways which are just as effective at inducing an insulin spike.
Alpha Lipoic Acid – which is a potent antioxidant is a welcome addition to any post workout drink or ‘creatine formula’. By preventing ’free-radical’ damage ALA ensures that post workout soreness is reduced and recovery times are shorter.
Chromium - is a curious addition to the formula, but is a common supplement used for appetite suppression and is though to enhance the mobilisation of fat stores.
The results you get from using Muscletech’s Cell-Tech will vary and depend mainly on your natural intra-muscular creatine levels. If these are low then the creatine formula here will surely boost the levels so you can train harder and make more rapid strength and size gains. This is a fact… you will see results of some kind.
Although, we have a patented formula here, it is something that can easily and effectively be created at home far more cost effectively (
